Asset Support Engineer – Antwerp


The Asset Support Group provides engineering services to company assets in Europe and the United States; to the Polyolefins Catalyst business and their clients (third parties) and to other businesses within.

This is an opportunity to join this team of leading engineers focused on project support, process engineering, process modelling; operational and commissioning support primarily to Polyolefins producers.

The candidates will have a chemical engineering degree with ideally a minimum 5 years’ experience in the Polyolefins industry (design, plant support, modelling, manufacturing). They will provide on-site as well as remote office support. The candidate must be prepared to travel both for shorter periods (1 week) and occasionally also longer periods (2-3 weeks) to the company and to other assets worldwide.


 Ensure safe practices of self & team at all times. Adhere to travel safety guidelines

 Contribute to safe operation at client sites

 Participate in plant safety audits , HSE process reviews and LOPA analysis

 Remote support of assets via plant data mining, analysis, modelling

 Lead/ support EPT trials and follow-up experimental campaigns at pilot scale

 Design studies (plant conversions, debottlenecks, more complex plant investments)

 Work with plant engineers and operations teams of assets to improve plant operations

 Work with other specialists within Asset Support group such as APC, Control and Mechanical

 Provide technical support to Licensees after initial delivery of Licensing contracts (Technical Exchange) and build commercial and technical relationship through successful problem solving skills

 Deliver technical services to Assets or Client sites (Plant Optimization; New Catalyst Demonstrations)

 Deliver training sessions and documentation for licensees or operations people

Functie eisen

Level of education & Experience in general :

 A chemical engineering degree, preferably with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations, design, modelling, asset support

 Strong modelling (Aspen) skills

 Polyolefins background preferred

 Troubleshooting; capability to improve operations & related issues

 Experience of running Polyolefins technology or similar is a plus

 Fluent in English. Additional knowledge of either Dutch or French is desirable.

Technical and behavioral skills :

 Broad knowledge of chemical process engineering and /or operations

 Culturally aware and able to work well with multinational teams

 Willing to travel

 Good communication skills and ability to work well with diverse teams such as engineering contractors, manufacturing & process engineers and client operations and engineering teams
